Madison Pearl is partnering with a leading UAE bank to appoint a Specialist – Internal Shari’ah Control to join its Internal Shari’ah Control function, based in Abu Dhabi.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Islamic banking professional to join a well-established financial institution and play a key role in supporting Shari’ah compliance, research, consultation and training. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Internal Shari’ah Control to ensure the bank’s activities remain aligned with relevant Shari’ah resolutions, fatwas, HSA requirements and CBUAE regulations, while supporting the development and delivery of Shari’ah training across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients within NRI or Africa markets
- Originate new client relationships and expand AUM
- Provide tailored wealth management solutions across investment and advisory products
- Develop long-term client relationships with a focus on retention and growth
- Collaborate with internal investment and product specialists to deliver bespoke solutions
Key Requirements:
- Support the Head of Internal Shari’ah Control in the effective execution of the department’s responsibilities.
- Work with the Learning & Development function to assess annual Shari’ah training needs.
- Prepare training materials covering Islamic banking products, including both theoretical and practical aspects.
- Conduct regular Shari’ah training sessions for relevant departments across the bank.
- Prepare Shari’ah research papers in line with CBUAE and HSA requirements.
- Monitor the bank’s business activities and operations for compliance with relevant Shari’ah resolutions, fatwas, regulations and standards issued by the HSA.
- Provide Shari’ah consultation on relevant business and operational matters based on approved ISSC resolutions and fatwas.
- Support the implementation of Shari’ah compliance policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensure assigned projects and activities are completed in accordance with approved departmental policies and procedures.
- Support additional Shari’ah control and regulatory responsibilities as required by the department.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Shari’ah, Islamic Banking & Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–8 years’ experience in Islamic banking and finance within a UAE banking environment.
- Strong understanding of Shari’ah compliance, Islamic banking products and Shari’ah governance.
- Experience with CBUAE requirements, HSA resolutions, fatwas and/or Shari’ah standards would be highly advantageous.
- CSAA certification by AAOIFI is preferred.
- Excellent presentation and training delivery skills.
- Strong analytical, research, planning and organisational abilities.
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates must currently be based in the UAE and have banking-sector experience.
